Please someone should help clarify some points about wl (weight of a band of liquid at the shell)
From the referenced thread, it was suggested that to get the Mf, one just multiplies calculated wl by the tanks cross sectional area.
But i think it one is supposed to multiply wl by the tank height (to obtain the total liquid weight since wl is the weight of a band of liquid) then multiply the result by D/2 ( since figure 5-27 shows that the liquid weigt acts at the centerof the cylindrical shelll).
Please, help me out.
