Is there any way to modify the properties of a line? Say, when you're trying to fit a dashed, hidden detail line between to parrallel lines which are so close that a dashed line isn't broken and appears solid. Is there a way to shorten the dashes and spaces? I have change between the three dashed line-types but even the smallest set appears as a solid line. Also, the step between that and the smallest set of dotted lines is too big which renders the line indescernable. I just need to make a dashed line between those two settings...................Just to be annoying.

What you need to change is the Line Scale. There are many ways to do this, but the easiest (for me) is to adjust it in the Properties window. Go to Tools-->Properties. Ctrl+1 also opens/closes it.

Select the line you want to change, and the properties window will display the properties for that line. LineScale is the 4th value from the top.

By the way, I keep the properties window open at all times. Select different objects in your drawing and see how the properties box options changes. It's a very quick way to edit objects.

Hope that helps!
