Dear All,

Hope you are all doing good,

I'm trying to model shear fuses (Picture 01) as an element of energy dissipation in my model ( they are added in order to dissipate the energy coming from the earthquake), however, I'm not able to find any explanation about how to model this element in SAP2000, the element has an energy dissipation ratio β= 0.25, would please give your suggestion about how to model it in SAP2000 and how to get hysteretic loops.

Thank you, I'm waiting for your kind reply,

Dear Mr Retrograde ,

Thank you for your reply, I guess the solution that you suggest is perfect my mine issue now how to find the value of K and C, the stiffness and Coefficient of Damping respectively, the only information that I have is energy dissipation ratio β= 0.25.

Could you please give me some thoughts,

Thank you,
