Hi all, you could quite possibly save my life...

I want to model a honeycomb structure in I-deas, which I can then export to an external solver (probably Abaqus) to solve for the impact of a projectile - the reason I need to model the honeycomb.

I believe the best way to do this would be to use shell elements, but I don't know how to go about doing this... any suggestions or advice (and any links to any useful articles) would be graciously appreciated.

I thank you all in advance...

try to make your details one by one since your material
thickness would not be common with this sort of shape
and then make an assembly adding each little component
then turn on your menus on the assembly side and pick
construct add entire assy with or without history to make it a solid part.
