Hi guys,
I need to design an industrial building.
Inside, horizontal precast panels(200mm thickness) are along 2 axes and vertical precast panels (see the photo attached) along 2 axes.
The horizontal panels are supported by the precast pockets so it's easier to consider.
My question is how am I supposed to model the vertical ones taking into account that I have to obtain some base reactions for the panels in order to design the foundations for them?
Can anyone help me with a similar model? (mihai.vlad@email.com)
Thanks

Hi mvlad,
the horizontal panels are just a mass that increases the seismic load onto the columns.
Bear in mind that the connection between these panels and the columns cannot develop a bending moment due to unexpected fixity of the connection.
In addition check the connection in tension (earthquake acceleration perpendicular to the panels) and in shear (earthquake acceleration parallel to the panels)
