Does anyone knows of a add-in tool for SolidWorks 2004 that will greatly help you design Conveyor Screws (AKA, flight screws, spiral screws)

I need to develop a small Powder Dispensing Unit that will use a small motor rotating the 1.5-inch screw, which moves forward and dispenses the granulated type powder inside the hopper.

Any help from you will be highly appreciated. If add-ins are not available then links to existing model will be ok, or tutorial on how to draw one of this will be even better.

Thanks all

Would a simple Sweep Cut along a Helix not give what you need?

If the screw has a variable pitch & depth, you could create a Composite Curve of several (many) Helices, and then do a Sweep Cut to remove material. Guide paths will also be helpful.

See thread559-139592, "Flat pattern of a screw conveyor type flight?". Do a search on this forum for "helix" or "spiral", even screw threads. What you want would basically be modeled similarly.
Not sure about an add-in, but after creating a model, make a design table so you can easily modify the perimeters of it.
