Hello again,

I am getting into solid edge now (last time i used it was many years ago and its definatly come on leaps and bounds)

Anyway I am trying to model a globe valve body. Now basically you have a central revolve with two sweeps going into either side. The problem i have is that on the sweeps the profile not only is swept along the curve but it also changes the profile at the top of the sweep to meet the valve body. I understand that when they are produced there is a bit of pattern makers licence but i am trying to display this as best i possably can and would really appreciate some help. I will try and get a drawing up next week to show you what i mean but my idea of extra guide curves didnt really work as i expected.

The other area is that the central revolve is similar to a rugby ball shape. The thing is, it is streched in the y direction and i am usure on the best method of producing it. I have asked other people (with more experience) and they seem to think a close approximation is suitable. Im not so happy and would like to get this bottomed.

Thanks for any advice

Hi Sunshine,
For sweeps I always produce paths and cross-sections as sketches first.
I think what you need here is a multi-profile sweep.
When you start the sweep command, select the multiple paths and cross-sections, that way you can change the cross-section as it progresses along the sweep path.
It's difficult to describe the best approach without seeing the effect you are trying to achieve.
