Friend sent me this one, not sure what to make of it. Anyone know what kind of product this might be? Or are the anchor rods cut flush to the top of the nuts? I believe this is a new pedestrian bridge in Ottawa, Canada.
With a proper template to align the anchor rods, enlarging the the holes in the base plate isn't necessary. Enlarging the holes in something like that wouldn't typically be allowed, anyway.
Looking at their documentation, all of their extended nuts have a smaller OD on the extension than the "Recommended Maximum Sizes for Anchor-Rod Holes in Base Plates" per AISC. So if you're way off on your placement or you have steel-steel hole sizes in your base plates (lookin' at you, MBS industry...), it may not be doable, but in most cases it probably would.
