Hello,

Trying to better understand if the use of an Unequally Disposed Profile can be the same as a MIN/MAX callout on a drawing.

This particular situation is between our companies internal drawing capturing the customer's drawing.

Our drawing= 35.1 MAX
Their drawing= 35.1|U|0|A|E@M

Because of the the 0 tolerance after the U symbol does this essentially provide the same result? Is there a possibility our MAX callout could allow non-conforming actuals to the more controlled profile?

Without seeing the geometry and how they are applied it's not possible to be sure, however it is unlikely they have the same result.

They're not the same, because a MIN or MAX spec only has one "goalpost." The use of profile with "U" still has 2 goalposts, although they are shifted off-center from the nominal.
