I am a car hobbiest and am looking for a 41 pin mil spec cannon harrness connector. The male and female, I also need the pins and the crimper. But I can't find a place to buy this things, if any one could point me to a website or a actual store here in central FL I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

You have to go to one of the distributors. It's not a consumer item. Do a websearch for "38999 connector"

Occasionally the crimpers turn up on ebay, I suspect the don't pass qc at some point, and instead of scrapping them, some enterprising individual sees a profit opportunity.

search for "Daniels crimping tool"

I cannot understand why you would use a connector like that in a car. It's completely unsupported by the auto industry. If you ever need to make a repair anywhere on a road trip it's quite likely your expensive connector will have to be ruined to get going again.

In the case of the ford a performance change that can easily be observed. With the connector you use more expensive parts that are harder to support because of some emotional reason.

There are technically uninformed people that will spend an extra $30 for speaker cables with gold plated connectors because advertising has convinced them they can hear the difference.

Who am I to to spoil their fun.

Had it occured to anyone maybe he's putting a cannon in his car, not so silly now is it;-).

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Don't think you'd need a 41-pin connector for a cannon...

Not that it wouldn't an interesting concept, but I recall reading a novel about that sort of thing, where all cars on the road were equipped with machine guns and rocket launchers and the like. Sort of like the recent Death Race movies...

Not wishing to split hairs here, but read the first three words of the post:

"I am a car hobbyist"

This explains the "emotional aspect"

Your example of speaker wires a perfect example. Alessandro will build you an Amp with a silver or gold chassis, if you like. Can you hear the difference? Only in the uptake of breath, when you tell you guests how much it cost!

why build this?

(or anything else on that web page)

ah, excess!

Very nice! I am sympathetic to your endeavors. I'm currently installing a 4AGE Silvertop in my '70 Lotus Europa.
