I would like to find out factors that affect spacing for a space diversity antenna in a microwave link?

I just set up a space diversity link for a backbone in the eastern part of Nigeria with 10m spacing.

At mid night between 1am to 3am the link is not always available. Although it is hamattan season, the problem might be a multipath effect as a result of the ducting.

Should increasing the diversity spacing resolve the problem or what can i do to solve the problem?

10 meters is pretty good! It is possible that you need to vary the spacing to something else, either bigger or smaller.

You might need to change the polarization from whatever you have to the other sense if you expect these Hamattans to be causing it. If you have a fully protected system, you can run one link veritcal and the other link horizontal polarization.
