Hi everyone! My name is Leonid. I work in the lab related to Additive manufacturing. We developed a new method of manufacturing microlense arrays via 3D printing.
Currently I am trying to analyse information about traditional manufacturing methods and for me there are many questions which remain unclear:
What are the disadvantages of using ultraprecision Machining Methods? (for example, single point diamond turning - SPDT)? We had a hypotheis that by using SPDT it's impossible or difficult to manufacture a lense with diameter less than 0.8mm. However, after reading scientific review* we are not sure anymore.
Do you know what is the minimum size of the lense which can be manufactured precisely by SPDT? How expensive is the equipment? It's very hard to find these details in the internet. So, I will appreciate any help ir recomendations.

0.8mm?! SPDT is often used for turning at the nanometer level!
