Flow & Forget.

I need a system that will allow a measured amount of fluid through a 1/32" diameter pipe once only. It is an imperative that the system stops after the measured amount flows through the pipe.

Any simple procedure that preferably renders the pipe inoperative after the initial meausured flow will be most useful.

I will greatly appreciate answers to what has eluded me.

What about a plastic syringe that holds the amount of material you want. Have the head of the plunger detached from the plunger shaft so it sticks at the end of the tube rendering it useless when the first stroke is made.

You didn't give the fluid, pressure / temperature, budget, or accuracy required, so I'm guessing about a lot.

You could try a peristaltic (is that spelled right?) tubing pump. The pump would meter a set amount of fluid per rotation. It's non-contact, in case you're dealing with a hazardous fluid.

Run it for a specified number of turns and then turn off the motor / actuator / whatever. The tubing would then be pinched shut.
