micro 1500 vb code to achieve datalogs into excel

I need some help on writing the vb section of my project. I would like to make a time-stamp in excel that would go out on a 485 network, and upload the internal data recorded inside the logs of a micrologix 1500 data logger. I have all the other portions of the program done. I can not figure out how to write the vb to go to each micro, and collect data. Note: This application does not need RsLinx. The data stored in the datalog memory is different than standard PLC files. It does not require linx. AB has a progam that will go out and get the data. The problem is they don't really want to help us finish the application. Please help...
