Methods and equipment for bending and welding of PVC pipes

There is a need to bend and weld PVC piping for cooling and agitation systems. Can someone please guide me by indicating some good reference material and/or equipment for undertaking same? What are the quality criteria for fabrication/welding of plastic pipes?
