Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurist

May be "bitting the hand the feeds you" but there has been an advertisement on Eng-Tips for a ASM book "Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist".

I have looked for reviews, but Amazon has only one, which is not a statistical significant number unless you are the one that wrote it.

Since it is the second edition and ASM is publishing it, there is some credibility to the book. Have any Metallurgists out there reviewed the first edition of this book? Is it worth the $99 before Oct 31st or $149 after Oct 31?
