Does anyone have any useful resources for MEP installation procedures involved in new construciton? I am a mechanical engineer who understands design behind MEP systems, but I need help with the actual installation of these systems. For example, I know what electrical underground is but I am not sure of the detailed procedure behind it, or handing ductwork, or pipe installation. If anyone has a book, website, any sort of reference to help me along the way, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

In terms of ductwork installation SMACNA has guidelines for fabrication and installation.
For piping installation you can refer to ASME, but Dan Holohan has some interesting information for hydronic systems.

Good luck

Simplest way to learn is go visit a construction site for a couple of hours each week. You will learn a lot about how things can and can't work.

Division 15 and Division 16 specifications from a consulting firm would help. You may try doing an internet search to find some of these specifications on line. I've noticed over the years, the goverenment (DOD) and Corp of Engineers may have some outline specs online available for information purposes. I thing I've come across them at times during my career.
