Hey all - I know this thread I'm referencing is really old, but in case anyone comes across it like I did, I figured I'd toss this link - there's some helpful information here regarding different types of plastics (melinex, ultem, etc.):

Just amazing how a computer guy can happen across a plastics film blog about Melinex and then realize that some other place had a posting eighteen years ago about a non-film requirement and their first post is a link to what is essentially advertising.
