Hi, people!!!

Could anyone, please, explain me the difference between empirical and mechanistic flow modelling methods???

I clearly understand the 'way' an empirical method works, but it's not so clear for me to understand mechanistic methods, as they also make use of empirical flow correlations, so , what's the difference???
