Im looking at instrumenting a fuel pump to measure the amount of air ingress/bubbles in the backleak flow. I as thinking of using a mass flow meter but im not sure how i distinguish from massair or mass of fuel. My other thought is to direct the fuel into a container where i Can measure the temperature and pressure inside the container and conclude the air mass with a few calculations. Any other thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Why?

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)
