Can anyone point me to a reference or source of information that explains the meaning and application of Cpk in the context of process capability and product quality standards? Or better yet, can anyone explaint this term to me?

There is a fine book by S Kotz and L. Johnson Process Capability Indices, Chapman&Hall 1993(ISBN 0 412 54380 X) on capability indices. Easy to understand and to use in practice.
