Mechanical

I am graduating from the University of Illinois in Chicago in December 2006 with a BS in mechanical engineering. I am trying to find a careerpath that would be health and/or fitness related. I have already looked into Brunswick's LifeFitness division, but if there is anyone that can point me towards any useful resources/contacts, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your considerations.

What kind of useful recsources/contacts?

Are you looking for employers in that field, or names of contacts within the employer?

Have you read FAQ731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

Can't help with useful contacts since I live in another country but what about finding a company that designs healthcare products?

Another area I was interested in but never looked into for various reasons was designing of artifical limbs.

How about the manufacturers of professional gym and exercise equipment ? I believe this has now become a pretty big industry, and somebody must be designing the hardware.

Take a tour of the local health club and note the machines and their manufacturers. Contact those companies if their machines look interesting to you.

Thank you for all your preceding help.

I have looked into the manufacturers of the equipment of my gym, which led me to Brunswick's LifeFitness division.

Specifically, I am looking for employers (not necessarily contacts) like Brunswick. Rehabilitation machines/devices in healthcare would also interest me. I have begun speaking with my college's career center and they have a contact at Wilson Sporting Goods.

I am also writing in search of companies with names not as big as Wilson or Brunswick.

Again, thank you for all of your considerations.

See if you can hook up with a physical therapist who can tell you the names of the companies that supply their therapeutic equipment.

There are the Bow Flex guys, Wieder (or Weider)...

I'd think an hour of diligent net searching would turn up just about everybody who is somebody.
