Hello
I have some questions about modeling crack in abaqus
I dont know what maximum principal stress (maxps) is and what number I should enter in this field
what is the theory about it ?
and in the suboption "damage evolution" what does "energy" or "displacement" mean?
My material is aluminum AL7075-T6
I really appreciate it if you can help me.

What methodology you are using for crack propagation? Looks like XFEM or CZM. Do you need to model damage evolution? I suppose you can find the answers in Abaqus analysis users manual.
