As per the Norsok M-001, when the SS316 is used for the pressure retaining part, the maximum operating temperature shall be less then 60 degree C.
However, most of equipment manufacturers are using SS316 for the high temperature services. For example, exhaust gas temperature is approx. 460 degree C but the exhaust duct and nozzle material are SS316. Of course I belive there is no problem.
Could you explain why the Norsok do not permit to use SS316 for high temperature service?
I found a clause from the NACE MR0175/ISO15154 but Norsok did not refer the NACE code.
