Dear all,

I was wondering if there is a code or law that limit a maximum pressure for boilers used in steam power plants. Or we can design a steam boiler as large as we want! If there are such codes, please inform me.

Thank you very much.

I'm not aware of any law or code that limits the pressure used. And generally, pressures used have increased gradually over the last 200 years.
Maximum pressure and temperature used is going to be an economic decision, based on balancing cost of equipment versus efficiency in operation.
If you're asking the question, you're unlikely to be the one actually designing the next high-pressure boiler, though.

Dear JStephen,

Thank you for your quick and kind response.

Also, as the new material been developed, the pressure limit of the equipment may be pushed higher and higher.
