I'd like to use the Maxim MAX6674 thermocouple interface, but, I'd like to monitor temperatures less than 32degF.

Has anyone used any tricks to run this interface 'below ground' and measure temperatures less than 0degC?

You mean, aside from the fact that the digitized output doesn't output anything below 0ºC?

Wrong choice of chips for sub zero operation.
The reference to -20 is the temperature limit of the chip, not the measuring temperature.
That is, the chip will not measure temperatures below 0, but the chip will accurately measure sensor temperatures down to 0 degrees when the chip is in an ambient of -20 degrees.

Thanks waross. I thought there may be a trick.

Do you know of any TC interfacing chips for sub-zero operation? (besides AD's stuff)
