Experts,

What is the difference between the MAX DIFFERENTIAL HEAD and the SHUT-OFF HEAD of a centrifugal pump? Are these the same? Thanks.

Shutoff head is the head developed by the pump at zero flow, when all fluid is being internally recirculated within the pump itself.

Maximum Differential head is USUALLY the same, but some pumps do have curves that can rise a little bit higher than Shutoff Head over certain flowrate ranges.
