MAWP certification

I designed a 2oo2 solenoid valve manifold using 6061 aluminum. I would like to mass produce and sell to industry.
What are the requirements to certify MAWP? Can I test a single unit and maintian records of test and then build manifolds per the design or would each manifold require to be pressure tested?

It is very unlikely that any product which contains pressure above a very low pressure will be able to be used without a pressure test.

And probably no one would buy it without such certification.

what's a 2oo2 manifold? 2oo2 usually refers to the number of elements in a control loop but usually 2oo3 or 1oo2.

Thanks for your reply..

2oo2 is solenoid valve voting where both solenoids but function to trip. My design provides valve position feedback to indicate if there is a valve failure. The solenoid valves are mounted to the manifold which has the pneumatic circuit.

What design code is this designed to?
That's a good question. Not really designed to a code. It's a manifold that will be milled from 6061 Aluminum which provides Instrument Gas flow paths thru solenoid valves to implement 2oo2 voting. I am not sure which code to design to?

I think that you have identified your fundamental problem.

If this manifold is intended to be installed into (for example) an ASME B31.3 pressure piping system, then it would need to be designed in accordance with ASME B31.3, or one of the standards referenced within B31.3. Similarly if you intend for this to be installed into ASME B31.1. Or B31.5, B31.8, B31.9, etc. Start there, then come back with additional questions (after having gone through the Code of Construction).
