I have a slide moving up and down in the vertical plane held with limit mate ( 0-500mm). I have another slide in the horizontal plane. I want to be able to control the movement of the horizontal slide when draging the vertical slide up and down (visa versa), basicly when the vertical slide is at the top it wants to meet the horizontal slide at right angles and when i drag it down they want to move away from each other.

Try using a symmetry mate (assuming it's available in the SW version you're running). Create a plane at 45 degrees between the vertical and horizontal slides to use as the plane of symmetry and choose one point on each slide as the other references. You may have to create a sketch on the horizontal slide to get a point that is symmetric with a point on the vertical slide.

alanled - So the horizontal and vertical slides are directly dependent on each other? (I must've read your post wrong.)
