Maths behind MFL in Mass Diffusion 2

I would like to know the mathematics behind the MFL in Abaqus (Mass Diffusion Analysis)
I can understand it is concentration flux, but how it is actually computed by software?

Thanks for this, I had gone through this earlier also, the problem arised when I was unable to picture whats happening. I wanted to get a small explanation in simple words if possible

you can use Animate Scale factor or Harmonics near the Animate Time History bottom in Abaqus result to show how it works. if you really want to understand the mathematics of FEM, I would recommend to watch some video about Numerical Method of Engineering problem from MIT OCW ware website.
