MathCad in Civil Engineering 1

I'm looking for an article on the use of Mathcad in Civil Engineering applications. The article appeared in ASCE's Civil Engineering Magazine (late 98, early 99). Does anyone remember the article and exactly what volume or issue it appeared in?

In addition, I would appreciate to hear from more Civil/Structural Engineers who use the software. Do you really find it is better than spreadsheets? [sig][/sig]

Cannot help on the journal, but I use both MathCad and Microsoft Excel. The greatest amount of my work is done with Excel using both tables and charts for presentations in reports. MathCad is used when I need to give a full presentation for clients who need to look at the math involved. [sig][/sig]

As a side note, I also use Mathcad and the Microsoft applications. A good graphics package from Mathsoft is called AXUM. Check it out as well. The graphics capabilities are probably superior to Excel. As far as a search of the magizine article, check out any of the multitude of book search sites. [sig]<p>William H. I use Mathcad extensively for calculations particularily those associated with soils work and structures. It makes an easy to understand presentation. When I make submissions to govenment agencies the civil servants like it better than hand calcs. Additiionally, I have used Mathcad long enough that I can do many calculations just as fast as hand calcs.
