Hello All,
Please someone reply to this. Its very urgent for me.
I have a query regarding the materials we apply in TC Integrated NX 8.5 while modelling.
We have received the list of materials from our client and we have copied and replaced these materials in UG NX installation folder (C:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 8.5\UGII\materials).
But these materials are not appearing in UG NX modelling environment.
Even We are not able to identify the difference in default NX material and after replacing these files in above mention path.
Can you please suggest what course of action should be done so that these materials reflect in TC Integrated NX 8.5 modelling environment.

Attached screen shot shows the material window. But when we expand , there is nothing under it.

Please help me.

a wild guess is that you have your materials ( the files) inside Teamcenter and not in the directory noted.
In NX, go Help - NX logfile,
in the listing window, search for "material"
you should find 3 variables
UGII_PHYS_MATERIAL_LIB_DIR
UGII_PHYS_MATERIAL_LIB_DATA_DIR
UGII_PHYS_MATERIAL_LIB_PATH

have a look at these to see if you can understand how/where to find the relevant data in Teamcenter.

There might be settings in Customer Defaults related to this, - the switch to have the materials in Teamcenter or Windows.
Search the customer defaults for materials.
I don't have NX8.5 together w Teamcenter installed so i can't look.

Tomas

In your other, very similar thread:
thread561-372841

you mention .dat, .def, .tcl, and .lwk files.
[ul]
[li].dat file: contains physical properties of materials such as modulus of elasticity, yield strength, thermal coefficients, etc[/li]
[li].tcl file: a script that helps NX maintain the .dat file[/li]
[li].lwk files: contains information on the physical appearance of a material (color, reflectiveness, translucency, etc), used by rendering programs[/li]
[li].def file: could be anything, I don't have one of these in my materials folder[/li]
[/ul]

The .dat file is a holdover from previous versions of NX, recent versions use XML files for the physical properties. You may need to enable the "legacy NX material library" option in your customer defaults (Gateway -> materials/mass -> locations) to make use of the supplied file. After enabling the legacy materials, you will need to select the appropriate library in the assign material dialog box.
