This is a DaimlerChrysler North America standard for high stength steels. Grade 050 designates an HSLA steel with a yield strength of 50-65 ksi (345-449 MPa), tensile strength = 60 ksi minimum, and elongation of 24% minimum for hot-rolled, and 22% for cold-rolled. It is equivalent to grade 340X according to SAE J2340. Prior to SAE J2340, this grade was identified as 050X according to SAE J1392. Other equivalents include grade S355MC (1.0976) according to EN 10149-2 or SPFH 540 according to JIS G3134.
