Hi,
We have a material spec that says valve body shall be 22% Cr DUPLEX SS. A supplier has offered a valve that is made of A694 F60 + 625 WO AWA.
From quick research this appears to be carbon steel which does not seem inline with the spec but can someone explain/ point me in the right direction to find the abbreviations WO AWA.

Thanks

WO = Weld overlay

Taking a stab at "AWA" - All Wetted Areas

625 is UNS N06625, a nickel alloy.

I agree.

Solid duplex 22Cr costs a lot so these are a viable alternative if your issue is internal corrosion.

Up to you if the reduced cost is worth it or not.

Thanks for the replies. I will look into this further.

Thanks again

Indy,

To know the service is important. If it is for sea-water application, you can kiss good-bye to the offer.
