Material Nonlinearity in Abaqus

Dear Mates,
I have performed a Riks analysis to work out the influence of material plasticity on buckling moment. to make sure that the section yields before buckling moment reaches I used short spans. But the results are the same for both elastic and plastic materials.Does any body know what is the problem.
