Material for pelletizer knife?

Does anyone know what kind of material is best to use for pelletizer blades for use in the plastic industry?

This is a customer request. The largest size knife they can buy is 2.12" x 1.37" wide by 0.047” thick. They think the knife would work better if it was 2.3” long by 1.37” wide by 0.047” thick.

The sample knife I have is a shiny gray metal with a mirror finish and is magnetically responsive.

I thought perhaps it was some sort of high speed steel or possibly something such as Stellite© but wondered if anybody could give me a more exact answer.

I think from memory it is stellite ot tungsten carbide.

It might depend on what polymers and additives are being pelletized. I imagine 50% glass filled nylon is more demanding than unfilled LDPE and that rigid PVC has it's own unique requirements as might very soft and tough elastomers.
