Hi,

I need to know what will be the best material choice for tank and pipe containing a dilute acetic acid solution in water(0.1 % in weight)at 35 ºC (pH =3.3). Will be suitable stainless steel 304?, is a suicidal the use of mild carbon steel with a corrosion allowance?

And for pipe containing the same fluid at 100 ºC?.

Thank's and sorry for my english.

Best regards.

EdStainless,

Thank you for your quick answer.

The solution is very diluted, 0.1 % acetic acid in water and the only contaminants are methanol (6 ppm) and dissolved oxygen.

The temperature is 35 ºC for pipe and tank, and 100 ºC for another pipe.
