I am trying to determine how to calculate the out of plain deflection under the ASD method for a masonry wall. The only reference I find is the iterative approach used for slender walls. This approach requires the strength level calculation of the Mcr. Is there a way to find the Mcr for service load deflection calculations?

Typically, Mcr = Fr * S, where Fr = modulus of rupture (Tbl 3.1.8.2 ACI 530-11) and S = section modulus of wall which is tabulated in TEK table I believe from NCMA

I do not understand why deflection is not addressed under Chapter 2 in ACI 530. I guess since deflection is a service level condition they chose to address it in only one place and chose chapter 3 instead of chapter 2. It seems strange to me to do it that way. Thanks for the quick response, I do so appreciate the help.
