Masonry SW and Steel in wood construction

Hi I was wondering if there are any good references on combining masonry shear walls and/or steel moment frames with wood 1-3 story wood structures that utilize wood shearwalls for the majority of the LFRS. Does the R value change for the wood shearwall design if only one masonry wall or one moment frame bay is used as well. Thanks

When we design residential structures (under the CBC) that are mixed, we use the lowest R value (typically the one for the steel or masonry) for all walls in that direction.

So - for example - a wood shearwall that is acting in the same plane as a steel moment frame would be designed with the R of 4.5, rather than the 5.5 that is typically used.
