Hi Gents,
My company recently purchased a 20" butterfly valve with gear operator when what should've been procured was one that was operated hydraulically.
My question: Is it possibly to change the operator from the gear type to a hydraulic operated one?
Thanks,
d_revolution.

Hi there.

The short answer is yes.

Construction, or availability as a standard, will be depending on all usual necessary details as needed for a moving mechanical device. Supplier will advice on details. Price depending on solution.

Many thanks for the quick response, gerhardl.

Have you considered a portable actuator? There are some innovative systems on the market now designed to take the hard-work out of turning valve wheels. Plus they have the added advantage of being completely portable, meaning one actuator can be used on many valves around the site.

I'm not sure if this would solve your issue, but certainly something to think about.

If you need more information, let me know.
