The subject manual, written by Kulhawy and Mayne (am I right?) for EPRI of Palo Alto, Ca., sounds like one of the best sources in the specific field.
Alas, I discovered it's obscenely priced at US$ 2500.00 (and not US$ 25.00, as at first I used to believe reading EPRI website).

Anyone has an idea how to get hold of it, of course without having to pay the full, outrageous price, no matter how valuable the material may be.

McCoy,

EPRI is a standards-issuing body for (among other things) the US electric power industry.

Unless someone is willing to sell via ebay or amazon.com, I think you may have to acquire a relatively inexpensive copy through other "grayer" channels.

I don't believe that my former employer is a member of EPRI, not all electric utilities are. In October I should be seeing several former colleagues at a scheduled business meeting - will ask around and see what I can find out.

A lot of manuals are being obscenely priced - including all AASHTO stuff. They think we are all rich I guess.
[cheers] to all.

I'm in Vancouver for a few days after getting my 25 year watch the other night in Montreal. Picking up some good CDs. For McCoy - ran into a store in a mall in Surabaya Indonesia - they had the best selection of jazz that I have seen for ages - not the current stuff but all the old prestige stuff, etc.- all on CDs.

BigH,
lately I'm driving a lot, and the chance is good to insistently listen to the CD collection....

McCoy is always McCoy, CDs like Atlantis and Sahara (70's) are just impressing. Also the CD with Stanley Clarke and Al Foster is impressing, refined, perfect, and Stanley Clarke plays the electric bass in a funky tune which is simply superlative. There is now an official site, mccoytyner.com, I've been waiting for it for a long time. By the way, there is a Canadian pianist, Renee Rosnees, a lady, originally from Regina, Alberta (is that right?) who moved to New York who is presently one of the most renowned pianists in the jazz scene. I'll stop here, It could take the whole day....

Jeff, I'll leave nothing unattempted, even the "grayer" channels, as a last resource

SRE, it would be brilliant if one of your former colleaugues had acces to the report

Mccoy - I met with my former colleagues today. As suspected, our electric utility is not an EPRI member. The annual membership cost is very high. An example that I was told about had to do with a certain software program that was needed - the cost (for a non EPRI member) was $16,000. The yearly cost to join that EPRI division (and get the software for "free") was $25,000.

Looks like I won't be able to help you.
