Hello, I am trying to make a light weight exterior surface model for our ID group to import and over lay and I am working on a very large model aircraft interiors. I have tried doing Assemblies>Advanced>Linked Exterior… With that I was able to make a surface file to export. The parasolid was still too large for them to use and I could not get it to make a useable Step or Iges file. What would be some other option for making just the exterior surfaces file form large asm file that may lighten up the file some more.

Try this...

Before creating the Linked Exterior, create a new empty Component in the assembly and set this component to be the Work Part. And then, with the Associativity option toggled OFF, create your Linked Exterior object. Now save this Work Part and use it for your downstream purposes.
