I've found some information about the subject, but no practical examples. Does anyone have any experience with gear systems that are magnetically coupled? I'm referring to the gear train itself, not a typical gear system magnetically coupled to the load.

The only magnets I've ever seen in a gearbox were in the chip detector.

Clyde38,

You can buy pumps with magnetic couplings. Obviously, the drive ratio is 1:1, and slighly less obviously, there are no seals between the motor and pump.

Your website makes it pretty clear that magnetic gears are a proposal rather than something that is on the market.
