We are about to order magnetic driven centrifugal pumps for service in MEG and heavy concentration of Na+ and other salt ions.
I'm looking for potential unwanted side-effects due to the nature and combination of ions and electromagnetic fields, caused by the fact of combining ions in the fluids pumped and electromagnetic fields due to the magnetic drive.
Materialwise the wetted parts will be superduplex.
However, a concern has been raised whether the electromagnetic fields in combination with the ionic fluid may cause any unexpected effects in the flow, or may even any induction occure or may the electric field cause disturbance to the driver, hence influence the pump performance?
Can the fluid act as an electrolyt in combination with the ions and elctromagnetic fields, hence cause say any kind of scaling on the impeller or the housing, or may there be local ion consentrations due to the magnetism caused by the electric fields?
