Reading up on electrical machine design it seems most if not all designers used permeance in their calculations. Is there any reason why they don’t use reluctance? I’m assuming there are pros and cons for both, theoretically, mathematically, etc. Anyone here care to divulge on both sides of the argument???

Anyone any ideas?

Does it really matters?

One is the reciprocal/inverse of the other
