Dear All,

Would you mind tell me how can I get the Membrane and Membrane + Bending stress using shell element with ansys workbench 14

If I use the Linearized stress intensity ansys request me to choose 2 points for the path...

Thanks a lot !

The results from the middle of the shell are, by definition, the membrane stresses. The surface stresses, inside and out, are, by definition, the membrane-plus-bending. Do not perform linearization - shell elements are a priori linear through-thickness.

Hi TGS4,

Thanks for your help. So in Ansys to know the M should I select - Stress Intensity: Middle and for M+B - Stress Intensity: Top/bottom ?. I´m quite new using ansys.

What about the "membrane" and "bending" option in the Solution-insert-stress-MEMBRANE or BENDING ?.

Best regards!
