To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
 
Type m3 in the note editor, then highlight the 3 and make it superscript (text input, formatting section of the note dialog).

Just type M3, highlight the '3' and then select the icon as shown below:

Pretty much the same process. Type m3, highlight the 3 and change the font style to 'superscript'. Exact process will depend on your version of Word, screenshot below from 2010 version.

I realize the m is supposed to be lowercase, but Word "helpfully" corrected my capitalization for me.
