What are the different channel types in LTE technology? Why do we have a physical channel and the other two (logical and transport) channels? Does that mean that only the physical channel is actually present and the other two are not physically existent? If so then can someone please explain what is the significance of the other two channels. Thank you.

At each layer of the abstraction, the data can be more or less focused on an individual requirement.

A physical channel would be the medium (radio in this case).

It's really just a hierarchical way of organizing protocols. It's real in the sense that the protocols are actually organized into abstraction layers. Makes them more flexible and easier to implement.
