Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with solution based of suspension bushing (rubber to metal; or rubber to plastic one) with requirement of high resistance against radial force (about 4,35kN) and very low torsional stiffness - or even slipping (I have to achieve torsional movement as low as possible).
I know that some companies are working on that kind of product (eg. Tenneco - Low Torque or Controlled Torque Product Line - Cleveblock Bushing, I am thinking of making product bonded to outer sleeve and sleeping of inner metal part. The problem with axial resistance appeared (axial force is about 1,75kN unfortunately). Would you like to help me with that problem? I am searching in the net - but it is not so easy to find the solution.
Thanks in advance for your assistance
Gregor

Spherical bearings (including rod ends) exist for this reason.

The company I used for work for installed needle bearings in the bore of the bushings - it worked well. I'm not sure how you would handle the axial load though.

Please identify the rates, and loads, that you need in each of the six DOFs of interest. You'll also need to specify what package space is available.

Lotus used to use single bonded cotton reels, to try and get around this problem, while most MacP strut cars use a better solution.
