Low coeficient of friction plastic

I require a plastic with a low coeficient of friction which I can use as a wear strip underneath a rubber belt conveyer that will not build up too much heat. The rubber belt moves at 0,5m/s.

PTFE is the natural choice (often known as Teflon although that's confusing as there is more than polymer marketed under that name).

Depending on the load and speed, sliders under conveyor belts are frequently make from High Density PolyEthylene. It is alot cheaper and easier to manufacture than Teflon.

You can get HPDE tape and also, even better performance from UHMWPE from the link I mentioned above.

The best choise will depend on how many you intend to make and what manufavturing processes are most economical for you.
